It is advisable and important for an individual to physically write down the various reasons he has for quitting smoking. It helps to write own the key reasons on pieces of paper and paste them at various places, such as the living room, the car dashboard, refrigerator door or even in the bar. This serves as a reminder and is also a source of motivation.
Unwanted weight gain is one of the side effects a smoker is confronted with, when he or she quits smoking. This is due to the increased sugar cravings experienced by quitters leading to over eating.
It is advisable for the person to document at least four different times when they themselves were disgusted by smoking. These times should be recollected in all vividness and the memories of those events should be replayed time and again. This makes the individual feel totally and thoroughly disgusted with cigarettes.
