All the three judges are involved. Everything is scripted and has been so for the past few seasons. In fact all that Devarshi and others said was predecided to entertain viewers. He is not so stupid in reality. Similarly If you remember one audition of a blind guy who was actually not blind in Season 5, too was fixed. I have spoken to that person and he is actually a theatre artist and was hired by MTV. They just hire people from these acting and modelling agencies, and this audition and the journey is just a money-making sham.

Exactly. He was given a character to portray and he got confused. Human after all. Remember him blabbering about a childhood weakness and because of THAT he didn’t have any friends. Since my job revolves being stuck to the internet, I tried a few keywords. It took me 10 minutes to find the info, and pictures. About 5 minutes to download details. Every reality show in this world is fake. We all know it very well. Still we are watching those because of entertainment. It’s all about money and business. I think RRR knew the whole fake story but projected as a real story. We are not stupid. We can understand all especially in this Internet connected world.

I have nothing against you researching the info. What I find so ironically hilarious is the fact that you went spent around 30 minutes on research and presentation (SEO as well going by the repeated Suraj aka Nagesh mentions everywhere) but the primary logic of the concept was lost when you said the entire show was scripted.

It would have been fine and dandy if you had shown how the thing slipped under MTV’s radar but calling the entire show and auditions scripted is not being neutral under the circumstances. It happened once in eight seasons combined so there is no logical proof to the claims of it being scripted.

As per as melodrama is concerned, MTV and all other channels thrive on it for TRPs. However Roadies is something that fuels on jerks instead of heartwarming stories. The focus is more likely to be on the guy comparing live in relationships to prostitution because it gives a chance for the trio to bash and thrash, which is what auditions are about. Sentimentalism is not really Roadies forte.

Secondly, after my post I realized that all comments require moderator approval. How on earth were such low level abuses approved throughout the comments section?? The personal insults directly aimed at Prachi in particular because she voiced her anger are nonsensically moronic to say the least.

Sure you can disagree with opinions but allowing fellow commentators to openly hurl abuses at a person is just not justified. Since you put such much effort into the presentation and viewership of the post for wider exposure, the message that comes out after reading verbal tirades in the comments is extremely amateurism and completely devoid of moral codes.

Getting back, I still haven’t found a single logical reason to say MTV planned this from the start. Suraj pulled a fast one on them and they fell for it. That should have been the truth of this “expose” all along.

Firstly, the half hour I spent, doesn’t cost me anything, just like this moment doesn’t. I have way too much free time, and work flxinility.

Secondly, this is my personal blog. I use it to write anything I take interest in. I never once asked you to come and get involved. I have written what I felt. You don’t agree, you don’t have to. You’re free to debate.

Thirdly, if I approved Prachis comments, I have to approve everyone’s. It would have been unethical had I not allowed her to voice her opinion, and made it a forum where only people who speak unfavorably about the show would be entertained.

If I didn’t stop her from abusing anyone, I won’t stop the others. Sometimes, people get abusive, and for others, it’s a part of their speech. Again, like I said, I have a lot of time, so, I’ve visited all abusive comments, and asked them to mind their language.

There’s a lot of comments, I may have not seen all, but most for certain. Some are in vernaculars, and I didn’t understand them, but for the most part, I’ve done the best I could.

I agree it is your post and your personal opinion. I just pointed out the lack of logical framework required to justify the claim.

I for one thing, don’t believe in passing the buck. There is always logical reasoning to everything that happens. I didn’t write this piece to prove that Surajs contestant profile is untrue, that was written and proven on the internet before I wrote this article.

Yes Jaimin, I value a lot of the additional info that’s been revealed here, and have even started listing them. The only problem being that how will I proove any of this. I don’t mean the taluka numbers but just info. There will be plenty of comments saying these are fake claims, and there’s really no point trying to prove to others, ad what if someone leaks false info to us? How will we prove these comments. We can’t upload anything that doesn’t have concrete proof.

This episode must have been aired this weekend, I saw it on Tuesday, Wednesday morning I wrote the article, and invariably MTV suddenly knows it’s a fake. If they knew, they should have revealed this much earlier. How strange, I write the article, MTV gets to know, and they catch the liar. ha ha, my foot.

I just read all that Nabanita has written below and I can’t help but agree with her.
Firstly, I remember watching that episode with my wife and both of us were stunned.I was like.” what a great guy”. My wife however, later, casually remarked as to how did he manage to gel his hair and wear such good clothes if he has been sleepin at the station for the last 2 days. Sometimes I think she is more smarter than I am.

Anyway,I think I know why they do this. The lines of right and wrong are so blurred today for everything that we see around us. Anything.. think hard about it and both the edges will be visible about any aspect. Right and wrong. In which case it becomes very easy to justify to onerself of any action we do. Look at some of the people commenting here on your blog. Some like it, some don’t and both are busy justifying themselves.
So you have a reality show, hire somebody to pull some stunt and lie, make some viewers misty eyed and justify all that by thinkin ” so what? did we harm anybody? its a show right?” etc.
Remember that cyrus bakra thing? I have always felt that show to be a lil cruel. Cruel to all those unsuspecting roadside janata in Mumbai who just want to earn their daily bread but who end up being a victim to the pranks of a really overweight cyrus. Have you seen most of the times he pry’s on some hapless chap by the roadside? Its not like he is evil. From what I know, he is a great guy and I am sure many people find bakra hilarious. But sometimes its gets too much I think.

I think you are seriously confused or you work for the MTV. Let me clear this out point by point for you:

1. It does matter what the truth is. You might not be interested in the truth, and would love your life in a bubble of make believe and fairy tales. Other don’t.

2. Noone got inspiration. They sympathized with some fake idiot. And there are people with such genuine problems. MTV made a mockery of them.

3. Only few people got the truth. Thats the point. More people deserve to know. And thus this post and the hype.

4. RRR weren’t fooled. They scripted it. Don’t you get it? So they didn’t get a Roadie. The audience got fooled. They specifically got an actor playing the role of a Roadie who could garner sympathy.

Nabanita, very nice of u to expose the truth. The moment I saw this audition I felt it was scripted. A friend of mine had posted this video on Facebook and had written ‘a true life roadie’ on top. I had commented ‘its bullshit’..Well, the truth has finally come out. I guess the credibility of the show has gone down even further,..We all know that Roadies 7 was a super flop, owing to lack or dearth of Interesting characters…3R’S r making sure that they script the show making interesting characters the centre of attraction…this Suraj was supposed to be one of the central characters I guess,..n I am sure he would have ended up in the final 3…Not only this Suraj, I think some of the other characters included are scripted as well..Ans most of the episodes will be scripted and made masaledaar..neways, an Indication to the youth of the country to not get influenced by these kind of ‘reality’ shows…thanks once again Nabanita..

Roadies, like virtually every other reality show aims for interesting, explosive content where human emotions flare up. To create such content, a “genuine unscripted” reality show will manipulate the situations such that people turn on each other..fight…bitch…backstab…basically all the negative instincts of humankind……the “non genuine” reality show will take it a step further and literally write the script to be played out, complete with their own actors.

When roadies started out, they were a very poor version of the “genuine unscripted” reality show..i say POOR VERSION because they didnt do too much of manipulation…they let things go normally and it was more wholesome entertainment compared to the recent versions….as seasons passed by..they graduated and became more adept at manipulation….they got people to bitch…backstab..fight etc etc by playing with situations and tasks and voteouts etcc etc

Very briefly, this episode was aired last weekend, maybe Saturday or Sunday. I’m a football fan, so most weekends I watch football. Sunday was incidentally also the eve before Valentines Day, so I had gone out for a film. The theater was doing a week long rerun of Oscar films, and they were playing Inception.

Monday I was chilling, and I guess the same on Tuesday night.
Now my field of work requires me to sit home, and work online for the most part. Tuesday real late into the night, almost like Wednesday morning, my friend bought my attention to this video. You see he has uploaded some 9 videos online, and out of the blue this one had a large number of hits. It was very exciting for him.

Since my work revolves around scrutiny of details and cross referencing, I’m rather attentive.

The first thing was the swelling on the eyebrow. Thing is, I got my eyebrow pierced in the year 2000. Now me being a girl, I’ve always worn very slim rings because I didn’t want the pierced are to be stretched but boys always wear eyebrow rings that are thick. As such, even if they’re not wearing it, the swelling stays.

He said 4 days he slept at the station, and he looked rather perky. Now, that again is not possible because I’m also an avid traveler. Indian railway stations can exhaust you, and I’ve seen Pune railway station very closely over years. It’s not very big, and security is falling in place since the blast last year. Someone hanging out for 4 days would/should have been questioned but he didn’t speak about any harassment.

As far as language is concerned because of random travel stints, I have an idea about where a person could be from once they speak. I’ve visited Lucknow numerous times to play basketball, I know how they speak there.

Around Maharashtra, if you’re not in Bombay, or central Pune, if you go as far as Pimpri too, the locals obviously speak in Marathi. In the villages, or even most commercial hot spots like Lonavla, Maha’b or Matheran, their Hindi is casual.

See our diction and control over a language is an innate ability developed over years. It’s easy to spot, especially the vernaculars.

So, roughly if that video was 10 minutes long and on first viewing if that many questions crop up in the mind, one must get to the bottom of it.

As such, I started reading the comments on that Youtube video. Its’ the one uploaded at the end of the article above.

I can’t stress enough how keen I’m about online data because of my work. So, it makes it easier to read a lot of data, and scan the important bit. Now Roadies is a watched show, and maybe many youngsters have been unhappy over the years because of non selection. Someone ratted him out. There was a comment, not a great one but it was a brilliant source. So I started searching for bartending colleges, I didn’t know of any. With experience, I know how to use keywords to find info that I need. So jackpot. It took under 5-7 minutes. Academic sources are most honest internet databases, so I fund the PDF. I had everything needed. Too another 10 minutes to write, in half an hour the article above was ready and uploaded.

I made no effort to make people aware. This blog was already functional. People helped me,all the readers here. When I upload an article here, its’ autoshared on my Facebook and Twitter. Next I know, everyone was sharing

I wasn’t trying to make people aware of anything. It’s a personal blog, I wrote a personal thought.

I’m more involved today than 4 days ago beacuse theres’ loads of comments coming in. If I auto approve all, there are people who’ve abused the contestant and the selectors. Very terrible ones so I can’t let that happen, so I’m manually moderating cause I don’t want my site to be a spam seat.

The guy is not smart, the judges and the whole crew had made him smart…this is a purely scripted show..the first time I have seen that Raghu and Rajiv patiently hearing someone’s story..otherwise I have seen them shouting and giving slang for rarely any real reason, then dont bully someone for any reason ..they bully because they are mentally retarded, but I was shocked first time when I was watching this in TV, this is some kind of unnatural about their behavior..they are not so kind that they are listening so patiently and being so kind-hearted….:)

You got this all wrong. Subha didn’t come to read this article because she was particularly “isgusted with Roadies & Raghu & Rajiv”. She read the article, and then realized disgust in this scenario is justified.

We understand your concern but this article has actually helped spread awareness on a largescale. Ignoring the article would prevent people from knowing the truth. You may not agree but we have had immense support.

I’m not sure we can really dent their TRPs. Firstly the internet isn’t used by everyone. The percentage of people that have read this article and realized that this has happened is negligible as compared to the people who believe in this show for the last few years.

The ting with MTV is they as in both the brothers and a few more of their staff did try clarifying on twitter but have already gone into silent mode because they contradicted themselves, and realized it later.

Between filming for roadies, and actually airing the program, that is until a winner is selected, there’s roughly a 3 month time period.

This is a guestimate but I’m saying this because one year I was at the Pushkar fair, and suddenly amidst all that fun, there was a seemingly large odd group that was causing chaos. It happened to be the Roadies crew that was filming an episode. That particular episode had probably been aired 3 months later.

Now, assuming that filming is complete and they have a winner, and this Suraj participated, what will finally seal the deal is whether or not they will air it as recorded because they’ve obviously given their awards and stuff.

However being MTV I’m sure they have a huge contingency fund to avoid damaging their reputation, so they may even reshoot. who knows.

Of course, if they go ahead and air an entire program based on such lies, they’re drawing the curtains upon themselves anyways.

Again, by myself I’m not sure I can change too much but yes if people on this forum want to see something done, we have a few great ideas, and can actually go ahead and take on these bigwigs fr fooling people.I’m certain that such serious breach amounts to cheating.

It’s very rewarding to see the right people involved. Obviously you are very skilled at many things and have been involved too with bog events, and yes, we do share an interest, photography.

As a student, you can do what many of us can’t. Belonging to an older age group, most of us already know, we’re not aspiring participants, and I guess that group would contribute as viewers.

The younger group( COLLEGE CROWD, or JUST OUT OF COLLEGE) is the group that’s being held at ransom. Now, I mostly know people from the older group, and a few very young school kids who have no contribution in this.

Despite that for people to have taken an interest is a great thing.
However, I’m not sure that we’ve actually reached the college crowd. That brings us to a more serious problem. The bigger cities ave kids who’re more internet compliant, and we may still reach out to them, but what about those from smaller cities and villages. I doubt we can ever reach out to them.

Arming the youth with the truth is the biggest boost. Every kid would love to make it big. They aspire to do big things so the Roadies motto becomes very attractive. Adventure, travel, physical sports, bike, and cash, all great boosters.

Little do they know there are props standing amidst them.
The best we can do is expect that people will at least read about this through some source and will be intelligent enough to not even audition.

Personally, I don’t find the contestant to be very clever, rather very very SHALLOW.

Well, now that seems a common sentiment. Never seen such a public outcry against them. They really haven’t made too many fans.

Brilliant write-up and really interesting comments. I’ve been a big fan of Roadies since season 4 and this post came as a shock to me. But after having read all the comments below I was made to wonder about the confusion and self-contradiction in most of the post. I do not mean to offend anyone, but here is what i feel:
1. The show may be scripted, agree! If it is scripted and Suraj was asked to do what he did in the PI round it is really unacceptable.
2. If we say that that the R-triplet had no clue of Suraj being fake and they were, as we all have been saying, fooled by Suraj, why all this anger and rage against RRR ??
Just putting forth my opinion. I have no intention of proving anyone wrong here

Don’t worry Viral, this platform here isn’t trying to prove anything either, it’s more like to each his own.

However, since I’ve been involved in moderating the comments, I would have to say that about 5% of the people who commented were totally pro Roadies, about 10 % think Suraj was fooled the selectors, so they’re simply happy. This could be some young kids who may have not been selected and are happy that someone got even with their tormenters. They aren’t even looking at the right and wrong of a reality show being scripted.

The good thing is about 85% people either have always felt the show was scripted, or there’s stunts to increase TPR, or are now certain there’s traces of scripting.

We have received a lot of information from people who have tried or know roadies contestants, close friends. We have not deliberated on those matters because I can’t prove any of that so tomorrow I don’t want to be picked at for falsifying reports. As you can see, this is a simple personal blog post that has been appreciated by many which we consider a blessing.

At no point was I picking on The MTV team because I don’t know them. The Youtube video upset me because saying my mum dies for sympathy is like causing great emotional distress.

People are not foolish, and everyone is free to believe as they please. Luckily this forum has had more people who’ve voiced an opinion that is intelligent.

i think they will kick suraj out in the 1st episode ,after creating the usual drama in which they are expert.
People love seeing other guys getting screwed by raghu,hence this serial is so popular. All their competitions/ tasks are farce and creepy.The show is hit just because of the voting round and the ensuing drama.

Roadies is not for simple people with basic Indian values…it makes a mockery out of morality and family values…in tat sense Suraj is the right candidate…totally unreal!!

Rohit, I guess that’s the reason a lot of people have gotten on this forum, to express how upset they are.

It’s more or less a to each his own situation here. The problem is while a few may feel that this fake contestant got the better of the selectors, others have expressed they’re all hand in glove as far as faking it is concerned.

As such, I doubt there’s really going to be an agreement on that note.

There’s no point visiting anything to do with them to give them imporance. They for sure must be trying all possible stunts to protect their image. At a personal level, we thank you for your support and you can let your immediate circle of friends know by sharing it on Facebook, twitter, etc. Each of us can just spread the word, and be aware of the situation.

These Roadies Judges take every small detail,Why could they not see the hair style and brow peircing.I beleive there is no reality in reailty shows.It is all scripted and Raghu Rajjev lead the scripts.Million of youth people come for auditions and may be auditions aare done before even start of the show.
